The Driver is responsible for coordinating and safely transporting clients to and from facility programming including appointments, activity trips, airport shuttle service and other special events in a punctual and timely manner.
Also provides monitoring and reporting of client behaviors, crisis situations, and medical emergencies as needed as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team.
Transports visitors or staff as needed.
Roles and
Responsibilities:
oDrives company vehicles to transport clients for admissions, appointments, activity trips, discharges, and other special events in a punctual and timely manner.
oPicks up or transports visitors or staff as needed.
oAssures that all passengers are wearing seatbelts before the vehicle is started.
oMaintains a constant awareness and supervision of clients while transporting them.
Complies with all company safety policies and practices and alleviates any safety issue by resolving or by notifying appropriate persons for assistance as necessary.
oServes as a positive role model for clients and peers providing examples of appropriate behaviors, effective communication, and conflict resolution.
Encourages open, honest communication to facilitate problem solving on the unit, during transport, and when attending off unit activities.
oCharts in client records as appropriate and/or assigned.
oProvides a verbal report/briefing to the oncoming shift.
oResponds and adhere to on call schedule as required.
oAccurately and appropriately completes all transportation documentation.
oMaintains vehicle log(s) and reports maintenance issues to appropriate facility staff.
oEnsures all company vehicles are kept clean and functional.
Maintains vehicles in safe condition and keeps record of vehicle maintenance.
oResponds to units to assist in behavioral events when needed.
oDrives company facility vehicle to pick-up supplies or equipment, as neededoHigh school diploma or equivalent required.
oOne or more years relevant work experience in behavioral facility preferred.
oValid and in good standing state driver's license required.
oCPR and de-escalation certification may be required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
oFirst aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.
